two days at work

thursday. 8:23 am:
i want to thank everyone who has signed my guestbook lately. i've seen them, and
it's made me smile, and i just haven't had time to get back and return the
favor. i will though! probably this weekend.
working all day, plus the time that gets sucked by the bus, leaves very little
time for internet. i've only been skimming my favorite diaries lately, too. AND
i've got about 20 emails to respond to... i usually clear my inbox out. i've
been hardly checking my message boards, and not even entering in all my foods in
my calorie database. the only reason diary entries get posted are because i type
them at work and it's a simple cut and paste.
see, THIS is why i need internet access at work! don't they understand????
9:09 am:
2 cups of coffee. not feeling less sleepy, feeling jittery and dizzy. not good.
9:37 am:
bored. still jittery.
10:13 am:
a little better. still could do for a nap. i'm tired because we went to see
everyday joe compete in the finals last night. 2 bands, winner gets to play at
'day at the zone', a festival-in-the-park concert thingamajig. winner also gets
$1,000. watched everyday joe. they are sooooo good. watched as yet untitled.
good, but less my type of music. result: 2 votes each. tie. add up points to see
if there's a winner. tie. so they decided to let both bands play and to give
each $500. i guess it's better than losing, but it was pretty anti-climactic.

mm, triscuits and salami. they put out a little tray of things. MUCH better than
donuts. although i think those will be here tomorrow. ugh.
applied for 2 new jobs, they both came out today. neither one sounded like i was
the perfect candidate, but hey. the worst that can happen is they don't call me.
almost halfway done with my day.

the coffee and candy keep sending me to the restroom. they did a number on my
stomach. gurgle, gurgle. i want to go home!!

friday. 10:46 am:
i've been working on writing a little blurb about the diaries on my buddy list.
it's going to take awhile.
WHY HASN'T ANYONE CALLED ME FOR AN INTERVIEW??? i'm applying to jobs that i'm
qualified for, possibly overqualified. grr.
i had a doughnut. i'm not super happy about this fact, but having one small one
as opposed to denying myelf and then eating 3 at once is a better end result. no
worries, i have yogurt, banana, and a gardenburger for lunch.
11:30 am:
david isn't getting calls from job offers either. this sucks. he's going to
scout out temp agencies down there on monday, which sucks because that means i
won't see him from sun. morning to tuesday night when i get home (the bus/train
trip won't get him home until tuesday while i'm at work). then if i still don't
have any interviews by the next monday (the 30th), i'm going to santa rosa and
hitting up the temp agencies, too. after i file unemployment, of course.
1:37 pm:
the day is actually going by quickly! amazing. this is because i actually have
work to do. see, i'm a good worker when i have tasks to accomplish! right now i
am testing almost 200 reports to make sure they generate the correct forms, and
tracking all my findings on my own excel spreadsheet. then i am putting all
errors in a shared database. i'm kicking ass - i have more entries in the
database than any other tester! they're lollygagging.
also, remember how i got my internet taken away? i thought it was lame cuz the
other student uses the internet more than i do, he's just better and not getting
caught because his monitor is in a more sly location. anyways, he got busted
being on ebay yesterday. busted by the BIG BOSS. haha. i just found that out,
and it coincides with the big boss calling a meeting in which he said to me:
"You are excused if you want. This is going to be an uncomfortable session." i
called him to see what he meant and he said that he had issues with people on
the team, but that it didn't concern me. i wonder what they are going to do
about it because the other student is part webmaster and needs his internet
access, they can't just block it like they did mine. i doubt i'll find out what
happens though, as i'll be gone in a week.
they're throwing me and the other girl who is leaving a little lunch party on
friday. i guess a few people like me. who knew?

whew. i finished those reports. now i am going to eat my gardenburger and email
this home so i don't forget. =)
