what's the worth of it without love?
06/19/03 ~ 8:46 p.m.

i wrote an entry at work, but then i forgot to email it to myself. sigh. that will be tomorrow's entry.

today, i am tired. i slept on the bus. it's just about 9 pm, i'm going to go to bed. zzzzzzz.

we had czech food tonight, i dont know that what i ate was representative of all of it's kind, but it cost me $24 and sucked. it was a pork thing with bacon and asparagus and bleu cheese inside. it was the special -- and i was there to try the cuisine, so i got it. yuck, yuck, yuck. which is weird, cuz i like pork, bacon, bleu cheese, and asparagus normally. i suspect it was the sauce that made it nasty. i have no idea what kind of sauce it was. sigh. can't always have wonderful dining experiences.

one of my buddies, eucalia, did a little entry about people on her buddy list. firstly, i'm so totally going to do that. it's going to take a long time though, i have so many buddies. and second, what she said about me was very touching:

I read Holly's journal because she just seems so happy and to have everything so good. It gives me hope. It's funny though, because I know perfectly well that she's not always happy and not everything in her life is good, but she is generally so optimistic about it. I feel like I may have more things like a functional car and good-paying jobs, but she has love. Sure, the other stuff is good, but what's the worth of it without love?

it reminds me that i DO have a lot, just having love. and i know that all those other life things will sort themselves out, and david and i will be fine. hell, i'd be happy living in a cardboard box, so long as i had him to hold me at night. i'd sleep soundly in his arms, knowing everything is going to be ok.

oooh, sleep. yeah. i'm gonna go do that now.

p.s.

1. Is your hair naturally curly, wavy, or straight? Long or short?
the top layer is straight. the bottom layer is wavy. annoying. it's 'medium' length, i guess.

2. How has your hair changed over your lifetime?
not much. it was always medium/long, blond. i started dying it lighter blond in high school, and kept that until a few months ago. now it's light brown w/ lighter highlights (all natural, baby) and the shortest i've ever had it - shoulder length.

3. How do your normally wear your hair?
i'm lazy. ponytail.

4. If you could change your hair this minute, what would it look like?
i'd make it naturally light blond, and about waist length.

5. Ever had a hair disaster? What happened?
i tried to have my hair professionally dyed back to 'natural'. i grew my roots out, went in, paid $100 for HORRIBLE HORRIBLE BROWN NASTINESS. i then paid another $100 to get it kinda back to blond, but it was still slightly gray-ish. i kept it bottle blond for a few years after that. then recently, i attempted the same feat myself, with an $8 home kit. worked like a charm.
