my wilderness weekend

good morning.
this weekend was great. david and i went up to camp shelley to see amy. it was great! i would say even better than last time! probably cuz my car made it the whole time without problems. heh.
friday night we had stir fry for dinner and then looked at amy and gabe's awesome pictures from their backpacking trip. they saw really cool snow caves and funky tree and shit like that. we also hung out with ranger pat, his wife, and his adorable baby maya. she's a little more than a year old, says unintellagable things, and is really happy all the time.
jasmine wants to type: aaaasssssssjkkkkkkkkkkkk;sdllf;kkkkkkkkkk. i think that means she missed me all weeekend.
then david helped with the trash run, and we went out to town. one of the funniest things we did was take a huge-ass stuffed flamingo around town and take pictures of it. his name is floyd, which i thought was just related to flamingo, but gabe kept saying, "and he's PINK!" pink floyd, hee hee. anyways, he's freaking huge, like 8 ft tall, and we took him to the stateline casinos and had him gamble. i also gambled, just to make up for the whole vegas ID thing. actually, all i did was ONE hand at blackjack (lost my $5) and then won $3 on a quarter slot. i figured that was good enough. ha.
then we took floyd to dennys and got 2 am food. mmm. =) saturday we slept in pretty good, till like 10 (that's late for camping!!) and then went to fallen leaf lake. amy was really nice and didn't make me hike as much as last time (the knee hurts) so we drove and then did a little hiking to get there. te lake was kinda cold, but totally pretty. we took lots of pictures, and then just layed around in the sun. david and i got kinda sunburned. =( i guess in high altitude, you burn quickly. oops.
then we went to the mexcan restaurant for lunch and midori margaritias. mmmm. david and i split nachos. i like nachos. =) and then... amy's whole family arrived for a visit!!!! yay yay. so i got to see justine again, plus her cool parents and wacky sister. and they all got to meet and approve of david. they said he's a good influence on me or something. just cuz he makes me work out and do my homework. sigh. then there was the ice cream making and the campfire. campfires are cool, all the campers are inivited and amy and ranger pat tell stores, do skits, play games, sing songs, and all that. then david and i went to bed early cuz we were sunburned and tired.
yesterday morning we didn't do much. showered, played ping pong, and drove up to a lookout point to see emerald bay. david had never been to lake tahoe, so he wanted to see it. it really is soooooo pretty. i always forget how much i love the outdoors. we tok a bunch of pictures there, too. i promise i'll put some up when i get them back. then we had lunch with justine and suzy while everyone else went on a 10 mile hike or something. nutsos.
david drove home and let me sleep on the drive, which was so sweet. when we got back here, we worked out and showered, then went to the grocery store to get dinner fixins. jenn came over and jeannine got home, so we ate and david got the VCR, nintendo, and phone line in my room working. mr. fix it! heee. plus david did our laundry. awww, huh? he's too good to me.
i have school in not too long, so i need to sign off of here. then david can update his diary! yes, he has one now, too. see if you can find it. hee.
