relaxed?

didja miss me?
well, i'm back at work this tuesday morning and at least semi-relaxed from my weekend in south lake tahoe. here's a quick review of what was relaxing:
~beautiful trees, lakes, sky, dirt, etc.
~campfires
~not getting carded for margaritas
~swimming
~fireworks over the water
~dinners cooked by amy
~good company and fun discussion
~the fact that i was far from home
~you don't know jack: the ride
~ranger pat and his 6 week old baby
~talking to the french people
~the meadows
what wasn't relaxing:
~uphill hiking
~bike rides to the lake
~evil shoes that gave me huge, infected blisters
~waking up early without even trying
~traffic on the way home
~my tire's tread ripping off on the freeway on the drive home
~driving around on a dummy tire, pissing people off
~tire stores not being open on labor day
~making mike and jenny wait with me forever to get the new tire
~taking 6 hours to get home (it took me 2 to get there).
so those are the lists. friday i got there and took a nap. that was wonderful. i needed that nap. then alex and amy took me out to the meadow to "regroup". then we went to dog-sit, and too k the dogs to a creek and played with them. they are 3 big chocolate labs; quite a handful. but fun though. then we came back to camp, made dinner, and had the kids make homemade ice cream with the old fashioned crank. (amy is a park ranger up there, so she has certain duties to do). then we did the trash run, because we they have to lock up food-based trash because of bears. that was fun, cuz amy drove the truck and alex and i rode on the back and jumped off to change trash bags. then we regrouped some more and played you don't know jack: the ride until about 1 am.
saturday we hung went out to breakfast, got new shoes (my evil shoes) and came back to camp to clean bathrooms. then we went on a bike ride and hike (which nearly killed me, i am so out of shape) to a lake and went swimming. and regrouped. when we went back to camp, amy made dinner and then we had a huge campfire. jenny and mike arrived that night too.
sunday we all got up, went out and had lunch at a mexican restaurant (yay! midori margaritas!) and split up. jenny and mike went and saw some fishies and went to tahoe city. alex, amy and i hiked down to emerald bay, swam out to the island, hiked to the 'castle' on the top, hiked down, caught a ride back to shore, hiked around, regrouped, and hiked UP UP UP forever back to the car. that nearly killed me as well. then we went out for quick dinner with mike and jenny and watched the labor day fireworks over the water, which was beautiful.
yesterday (monday) was basically getting up and leaving. we left at 11 am, and it looked like we'd be home (despite the traffic) at about 2:30. then my tire's tread blew off and we had to handle that. luckily, mike and jenny are the nicest friends in the world, and stayed with me and changed my tire and everything. it wasn't technically FLAT, but i did have to get a new one, making this the 8th flat tire i've had in 3 years. that's just not cool.
i got home, took a nice, hot bath, and hung out with heather and travers. travers got a DVD player, so they were watching that. we made dinner, and travers played zelda. it was a nice night.
so, now i'm back at work, hobbling around cuz of the blisters, tired, and wanting another vacation. *sigh*.
