100 things

2 days till my b-day
12/10/03 ~ 8:11 a.m.

sorry i took so long to write again. see, i use david's computer most of the time cuz mine sucks. but his keyboard broke and we were using this crazy ass on-screen keyboard that worked but was a pain in the butt. i knew i couldn't write an entry with it,

so now we have this silly ergonomic keyboard on it. it's an old one but works fine. ergonomic is not my style, however, so i type a little slower.

so. last saturday. david and i got all dressed up and met in front of his work building at 6. we all loaded onto a bus and headed off to san francisco. all of david's friends claimed the back of the bus. we got a choice between heat and air... we chose heat. after about 1/2 hour, i was stripped of my coat and sweater, leaning my face against the cool glass and praying not to throw up. the bus driver was horrible, swerving and pumping the gas. i was so nauseous. i swore that on the ride home, i'd be in a front seat.

so we finally got to the dock and boarded the hornblower. his company booked the whole second floor. we were waiting on the bus from walnut creek (the other ofice) but we got pictures taken with the little hornblower life preserver and we found some seats. when everyone got there, we took off.

dinner was buffet style, and it was wonderful. i was mostly partial to this broccoli/carrots dish, which would have been more healthy if not coated in butter. i also had some salmon and steak. dessert was little squares of everying imaginable - carrot cake, fudge, pecan squares, fruitcake, white cake, i don't even know what else. i think there were cookies too. i stuck with the pecan ones. mmmmm.

there was also an open bar, but they did not have the fruity drinks i enjoy (strawberry daquiri, midori sour, etc). they made me a tequilla sunrise that must have been more than 1/2 tequilla, though. ugh. i didn't drink it. most other people were very excited about the bar and got very, very drunk.

there was dancing to bad hip hop music and 2 blackjack tables. we did both of those and also went on the outer decks (when it wasn't raining) to see san francisco at night. it was so beautiful when we went under the golden gate bridge. we had some nice romantic moments.

by about 11, david and i were tired and ready to go. alas, the boat didn't dock until 12. then we found our bus and re-boarded (front seat, yay). about 5 minutes into the ride, one of david's friend's girlfriends puked all over the back of the bus. i hid, but apparantly it was running down the aisle and such. (SO happy i was in the front!) they got her a garbage bag, cleaned up the floor, and we were on our way again. this time, the bus chose air instead of heat. so we froze our little asses the whole way home. i did fall asleep on david's shoulder though, that was good.

we got home at 2 am and passed out. end of our fairytale night.

so today is wednesday. it marks 2 days until my birthday! i don't have to work at the office so i am meeting david for lunch, then going to the movies. i work at blockbuster tonight, argh.

happy hump day!
