trip, day 4
*6/22/02 ~ 4:41 p.m.
our BIG paris day. we started off by going to the arc de triomphe. awesome, awesome. i don't know what i can really say about all the monuments i'm going to describe. but anyways. we climbed to the top of the arc, which nearly killed me. i'm so out of shape. but i think they should invest in elevators!!! the view from the top was great, got a pic of ned and i with the eiffel tower behind us. also from the top, we saw a huge party of south koreans right after they won their game that day, which was funny.
when we came down, we walked down champs elys�es, and found a nice street restaurant to eat at. it was great food.
next stop was the louvre. we had about 3 hours in it before it closed, which is TOTALLY not enough. we went through it really quickly, but managed to see all the stuff was wanted to see. all the famous stuff (mona lisa, venus de milo, etc.) plus tons of other fun stuff. ned took all the pics on his digital camera cuz i would just end up wasting film not getting the lighting right. so i'll get those at the end of the summer.
next stop - eiffel tower. we got there at about 6 pm, and randomly ran into some of ned's friends from campus. so we rode up to the top with them. (yay elevators!!!) the view from up there was awesome too. pictures, picture, pictures. and i got my kiss on top of the eiffel tower. this was also mine and ned's 2 year anniversary. wow, huh?
so after we came down we went out to dinner (good stuff yet again! score!) and returned to the tower at night to see it lit up. beautiful. took some more pics, chilled in the park (i had a holly moment: i saw a bunch of guys with a huge hooka and i thought it was a bong and i said "oh my gosh!" really loudly and they all started making fun of me. can't take me anywhere. sigh.), and headed back to the hotel for anniversary sex. mmmm.
