trip, day 5
*6/23/02 ~ 4:41 p.m.
we checked out of the teeny hotel, got lockers for my bags at the train station, and hit up notre dame. we got there at about 11:30, randomly in time for mass. so we attended the mass, of which i understood maybe 25%. my french is just not that good!
after, we got some souvenirs and took some outside pictures. we ate lunch on a boat in the seine, with notre dame behind us. despite the beautiful setting, this was the worst food. a nasty, nasty mixed drink (which wasn't nasty cuz of the alcohol, but the fruit. ned wouldn't even drink it!) and some not great tasting chicken and veggies. oh well.
we wondered around the island for awhile, then took the subway to go see their statue of liberty, which is a smaller version of the one they gave us. then we took the subway to our respective train stations, where he returned to metz and i headed off to amsterdam.
long train ride, and then.... i met bobbi! she and pieter were waiting for me at the station. =) they took me back to their apartment, and bobbi and i talked for awhile before hitting the sack.
