first entry during 'ned' week

monday morning, back at work. i had a great weekend. it's like ned never left. it's not like, "ohmigod, i have to totally make the time he's here worth it", it's like, "this is nice."
so i drove down to livermore on friday and ate dinner with debbie, justin, and christine. we went to sweet tomatoes and 'caught up', which consisted of all of us sharing our love life stories. funny funny stuff. it was great, i miss those guys. then i drove to ned's mom's apartment, which is in redwood city. we got to the airport at 9:45, his plane was supposed to come in at 10:30, but actually came in at 11. so, his mom and i got a lot of talking done. she told me about our (meaning the family's) plans for christmas! she is including me in the planning. and it was funny cuz ned didn't even bat an eye to that. so we went back to his mom's house, went to bed, and had the first night o' fun. it was AWESOME.
saturday we got up kinda early (yeah, we were tired) and went to s.f. we did the clam chowder and breadbowl thing, the alcatraz thing, the pier 39 thing, and various other s.f. activities. believe it or not, i've lived in CA my whole life, and in the bay area for 3 years, and never once did the whole 'touristy' thing in s.f. i just go to concerts there. that was the first time i'd really been to pier 39, and i've still never been on a cable car. once again, i don't get out much.
sunday we slept in, went to breakfast, and left his mom's to head back home. she took us grocery shopping, gave me money for the hotel, gave him spending money, and sent us on our way. it was awesome. we stopped by my friend salina's house on the way home. she lives in castro valley. i hadn't seen her in a few months, and she'd never met ned, so it was a double- duty trip. it was so fun, just chillin' and talking. i love that. no pressure, you know? ned thought sal was cool, so all was a success. he wasn't even mad we were there for over an hour! then we braved the nasty weather and drove here. we're staying in the cool extended stay place, which suits our needs perfectly. we ate yummy microwave dinner, attempted to watch a movie but managed to get in stuck in the broken VCR, watched simpsons, and didn't get to sleep till about 12. now i'm at work... but only 12 minutes till i'm off and get to go see him again! yay yay yay!
