this morning on bob & sheri, the chat room topic was "road trips." it made me nostalgic and also inspired - david and i have talked sometimes about just hopping in the car and going. but the sad fact is that we're adults now, with lame 8-5 jobs that we can't just leave for a month. by mid next year, he'll have 3 weeks of vacation built up, but me? ha! i'll be lucky if whatever job i end up in gives vacation.
i do have a goal in my life to visit all 50 states. i've only visited 5 (california, oregon, washington, nevada, and georgia). so i really need to get a move on.
i've done one road trip in my life. winter of 2000, jenny, mike, ted and i drove from sacramento to vancouver, canada. we basically only stopped to see one place in between - seattle, washington. we were in a teeny little car (a VW jetta), with a luggage bag strapped to the top. it rained, the car leaked, and the luggage got wet. it was an adventure. and it was fun.
i really hope i can find the time in my life to have more adventures like that one. in fact, i need to make the time. because life's too short, you know?
