a portrait.
for so many years, untaken
a family.
for so many years, broken
the five of us and a dog in a picture from '87
is the last remnant of what it should be.
divorce. hatred. tears.
new beginnings.
4 begin to rebuild. become friends.
act like family.
one stands alone.
shunned, shut out of my life.
but a new bud brings us together.
a baby. a brother.
i have two families.
i don't live with them.
but i love them.
