100 things

tea time, dating, and parties
11/03/02 ~ 9:39 p.m.

before i wax poetic about dating and parties, a quick run-down of my day:

i slept in till about 10, played on the computer till 12, and drove out to see brooke. we met up with another ex-coworker from polycomp, heather, and drove out to this "tea room" in folsom. it was so great! we got "afternoon tea", picked out our flavors, and got our own pots and some fancy finger foods. we could also borrow hats, so i sported a pretty white one. then we hung out at heather's house and chatted for a good 3 hours.

i came home, got into pj's, played on the computer some more, and cooked dinner so as to be ready for my sweetie to get home. sadly, he just called and is only leaving now, so he'll be home about 11. hot plate for him. jeannine and i are currently enjoying my BBQ chicken and garlic mashed potatos. i rule.

ok. so. dating.

i am one of those people who is under the impressing that dating sucks. i have been on 2 "official" dates in my life, and i'm still saying that. (by official i mean "someone picks the other up, we go out to 'get to know each other' and make small talk" type of thing. not the "i'm going to the movies with my boyfriend" kind of thing. sure, that's a date, but not a ... well, first though third date kind of thing.) the first one was with this guy named kurt, who i met at an 18 & over club. let's just say, it was dark in there, and i was so flattered to be asked for my number, that i didn't know what i agreed to. this was before this diary, but let's just say he was a hick with nasty teeth, no driver's licence, and animal feed in his house. scary. the second date was documented here. not much better.

so what's with these people who go on tons of dates? or people who enjoy being single, dating, or playing the field??? if you're one of these people, inform me. do you actually find it fun?

me, i'd much rather hook a guy who is my friend, and spend the time making out because we already know each other. heh.

ok. next. parties --

sure, they're fun. everyone gets excited about a party. there have been whole movies about just one rockin' party.

and maybe it's just college parties, but it seems that you have to do one of three things at a party: hook up with a stranger, get extremely drunk, or both.

let's see... i'm in a serious relationship and i hate being drunk.... where does this leave me? sipping on a few drinks, shaking my bootie a little, and calling it a night.

i don't know. parties are kinda pointless to me. like, i'd rather have a "gathering", namely where i know everyone there and we all just hang out. dancing and drinking can be included. but an all-out party?

i'd rather stay home in bed. wink, wink.
