the 2004 wrap-up survey
12/22/04 ~ 4:28 p.m.

this is entry #3 today, so scroll past the survey if you haven't read the other stuff.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
my resolutions always have to do with weightloss, but i feel justified in making htme because they're aren't like 99% of resolutions out there, and i am actually losing the weight. no, i didn't make the resolution of hitting my weightloss goal this year. next year, i am going to have more resolutions. they're not fully formed yet, but they'll look something like this:
* lose 40 pounds

* get my savings account to have two months salary in it by the year's end

i heart my neighbor
12/22/04 ~ 3:14 p.m.

yesterday my long-lost neighbor came to see me! i went to 2.5 years of high school in livermore, and i lived next door to two fellow students: one was jordan, who was featured in that MTV show, sorority life, and the other was my wonderful dan, who was the first person to befriend me after i moved there. we hung out a lot, but drifted as we got older, and drifted a lot after i moved away.

every time i'd go to visit livermore, i'd swing by his house to say hi. we lived in the exact same house models, so it was just so crazy to go there. then he went to UCLA, and we saw each other even more rarely. two years ago, he was at a new years party that i also attended. he was quite drunk, and told me many many times how much he loves me! heh.

so last night was the first time in a long time that we'd been able to talk. and talk we did. david, dan and i had dinner at chilis, where we blabbered on so long i think the waitress was ready to kick us out, and then we came back to my house and talked until almost 11:30. dan's just so cool. david likes him a lot, too, which is good because when he first called me out of the blue, david was slightly threatened. but not anymore. david and dan have many of the same views on life. and on girlfriends.

i wish i could see him more often, but even after he graduates, he's probably going to be staying down in LA for a while. his job, grad school, and a long-term girlfriend are reasons he'll stay there. sigh. life pulls everyone in different directions.

free ipod?
12/22/04 ~ 11:14 a.m.

ok. so. i'm a skeptic of all of those "free offers". but i'm less skeptical after a recent post in upwardlymobile, a livejournal community i'm in about trying to become more financially stable. she actually got her free ipod! there are pictures. and boy, do i want an ipod.

so i went to her link, which was a referral for her, and i signed up (using an email address that i don't care if it gets spammed). and i'm (very cautiously) trying it out.

but now i really need to refer people, and i don't want to just email everyone, i wanted to explain. so maybe you, my internet friends, will check it out with me.

here's my link: free ipod!

so, check out the post at that community (and my comments and her reply), and check out this site. and if you do this for me, that would be SO SO awesome. an ipod would reallyreally enhance my running program.

so far i have 3 people signed up! :) yay!

love, holly

p.s. in order to do it, you have to sign up for one "free offer." the one that is the least scary was the 2 weeks free blockbuster online offer, and it's JUST like netflix, and i'll cancel it after 2 weeks so i don't get charged. plus i got free rental coupons out of the deal. so try that one if you're worried.

p.p.s. and if you need anyone to fill out something for your free stuff, i promise i'll reciprocate!
