i know a TLC celebrity!

ok, sorry for super updating today! but i really have to talk about this.
so when david and i were home sick on tuesday, i watched a lot of TLC. a makeover story, trading spaces, etc. i love that shit. anyways, i saw a commercial for a new episode of what not to wear and i nearly freaked out... the show was about my pal tom's sister megan slankard who is an awesome singer/songwriter. i first saw her in jan '02, at a coffeeshop in livermore. (see this entry for details). i also went to see her play when she did a gig in davis.
of course i had to watch it! since it just finished airing, TLC put the pictures up and covered the whole show. check it out: megan on TLC. plus if you check out her site there's more info there.
the best part about it is that i re-connected with my pal tom. thankfully he is still in davis and still had the same email address. and he emailed back right away, and now we're chatting.
nothing like a TV show to reconnect you with college chums, eh?

david told me he doesn't mind dressing up, which is the whole reason i was thinking of the other variety. but since he's game, my mind is made up:

so i came up with a theme idea for my party -- i'd love to have a cocktail party! i went to one in davis, and i loved it. i know david would hate it though, he hates dressing up.
but i was chatting with beth about it, and she gave me the idea to make it kinda of an "opposites" party. like "wine and beer", "cheese and cheetos", etc. so you can either super dress up or super dress down. we could make mix cd's where every other song is classical and the others are rock! we could have fancy hors d'ouvres and nasty snack foods!
or am i just dumb?
let me know what you guys think. even if you live 20 states away or in another country, what do you think of the idea? would you like going to a party like that? or just cocktail? or niether
rambly rambles

now is my time to write an entry while i'm at work because both brokers are in the middle of appointments. i just don't have much to say! let's see. what can i come up with?
i'm wearing one of my cute summery dresses again today, but the downside is i can't wear my knee brace with it so it's getting a little sore. well, i CAN wear it, but it doesn't look very good/professional. i missed a small stripe of hairs while shaving the left leg and they bother me. eh.
last night david and i did all the dishes and i did 3 loads of laundry, so i feel good about the place being semi-clean now. sometimes we are just so lazy. maybe i should start following those "flylady" rules so i can always have a clean place.
hopefully sabrina will want to hang out with me tonight. i don't know what we will do, but we could figure something out. but if she ends up having plans, no big deal because i always have my david to bug. heh.
speaking of my david, it was two years ago tomorrow that we first cuddled up while watching playing by heart, which has come to be "our" movie. some couples have a song, we have a movie. we're just weird like that. so, tomorrow we celebrate. <3
