100 things

canada and dawson's creek
10/07/00 ~ 4:37 pm

hope you all haven't been waiting in suspense for my next entry, seeing as how it's been forever since i've written. 2 weeks even.

so nothing HUGE has happened, but some small cool things have taken place since i last wrote. dawson's creek and buffy are back on the air! i managed to miss the first episode of buffy because i thought it was the same week as dawson's creek. dumb me. but i'm ok with that because it is dawson's that i am loyal to first and foremost. i have seen every episode, and i have all but a select few on tape (damn that girl stephanie who 'borrowed' my tape, quit old navy, and i've never heard from since!!!) i watched it at astrid's house, along with bleh, and jeffy, a self-proclaimed addict also. it was good. i love pacey. and andie. they are my favorite characters and i loved them together. but anyways, that lightened up the middle of my week.

secondly, (this is actually a pretty big event) while at the davis football game with my friends, i brought up the fact that i *need* a vacation. i have tons of vacation time saved up at work. but i want to take it in december, when i actually get a break from school as well as work. (my vacation time gets paid out and disappears at the end of the year.) so the two weeks right before christmas are the days. but i don't just want to sit on my butt, so i suggest to astrid, bleh, and ned that we should go somewhere cool. side note: i've been out of the state of CA exactly two times in my life: 1. a swim meet in reno 2. a school field trip to ashland. notice that both of these places are barely over the CA border!

so everyone thinks this is a cool idea, and we decide to take a road trip to canada! we've been planning like crazy the past week and this has got to be the most structured road trip in history. we know exactly what city we will be in every night. i like it that way though. i don't have the itinerary with me at the moment, but the trip goes something like this:
--depart on friday, dec 15th after ned's final ending at 2
--stop and stay in springfield, washington
--make it to seattle, washington the next day
--hang in seattle for a few days
--drive up to vancouver, canada (my 1st time out of the USA!!!)
--hang out in vancouver for a LONG time. drinking age is 19! and i hear there are 'pot bars' too. should be fun.
--take a ferry and spend a day in victoria, which is on vancouver island
--head home, stopping for a tour of mt. st. helens and hopefully passing through portland

this is going to be an expensive trip. we're staying in motel 6's and all sharing one room the whole time, but it is a 9 day, 8 night trip. we arrive home on the afternoon of the 23rd, just in time for christmas eve.

possible hindrances:
--finding a good car. if all else fails, we will be attempting this in a ford escort. we're gonna try to borrow a SUV, but renting one would be too expensive.
--whether ned will be able to go. his mom may not allow it, finances may not allow it, and who knows what else. but if he can't go, i will definitely feel like a third wheel on my own trip. that would suck.
--me or bleh not getting the days off we need. it shouldn't be a problem for me, but bleh may have trouble. he says he'll just quit his job if he doesn't get it off.
--roads being closed. that would definitely be NO GOOD. it's canada or bust!!!
but all of these things permitting, we should have a wonderful time. the four of us make a great group dynamically. we're planning on videotaping the whole event and making our own movie! plus tons and tons of pictures, of course! i am SO EXCITED! wish me luck on all of this!
