back from hollywood and in a grouchy mood

i'm in a horrible, horrible, irritable mood. it's a bunch of things. the main one is, i got my math midterm back today and i did horribly. way worse than the first time, and they are both Fs. i don't even know what to do to make it better, and i thought i knew what i was doing. so i'm pretty screwed and of course i'm worrying that i might not even pass the class now. which would screw up my future even more.
also, it's super windy, and if there is one weather thing i hate, it's wind. it's so bad that you can't ride your bike straight, see anything, and i can hear it here in a basement computer lab. argh.
so, since i'm in a bad mood, i'm going to try do a quick recounting of the weekend instead of a huge, long-winded one, which will work out better for everybody. i'd like to wait for the pictures, but that could take awhile. you know me.
friday - we left town at about 11. david drove the whole way, silly boy. both mike and i fell asleep for about an hour on the way. when we got there, we found hollywood drive, and checked out all the stars. we walked down far enough to see the handprints and footprints, and i took my picture with susan sarandon's square. we ate a quick dinner at mel's diner, then went to the whisky to watch the everyday joe show. it took us so long to get down sunset strip that we were about 10 minutes late. so we only saw about 20 minutes, but they sounded and looked great. then we found a hotel, unloaded, and met the band and their friends for dinner. it was amazing to find out that nathan, the bassist, had proposed to his girlfriend of over three years. it was great to see her too, because she goes to school in washington now.
the most exciting thing of the night was finding out that john cusack had been in the bar, watching the show. of course, i am not fortunate enough to have seen him, but two of the band members did! argh, so close... yet so far. anyways, he only stayed for their set and left on the people after them, so apparantly he liked them. yay. =)
saturday - we rose and drove another hour and a half to santa ana. i was having a little stomach problem due to drinking the water down there. no good. so, santa ana is where david's friend kevin lives. we met up with him, met his girfriend cathy, and played with his ferret, sneer. i LOVE LOVE LOVE ferrets. =) yes, i took pictures. we then went to the santa ana zoo, where both kevin and cathy work. cathy had to work, but we had kevin as our own personal tour guide! he told us a lot about the animals. we also got to ride an elephant. i had tons of fun.

plus, david was a super sweetie and bought me a surprise present -- a stuffed duck! (he knows i really want a pet duck, like molly.) it makes this obnoxious quacking noise, too. it's great. i named him drake.
then we went to newport beach, which was totally fucking beautiful. i hope some of those pictures come out good. i was a sap and wrote H+D with a heart around it in the sand. =)
we met up with cathy and ate at the spaghetti factory. yum, yum. then we went back to their place where they used these stones to tell us fortunes. david and i both go the "moving" stone for our future, that was pretty cool. anyways, it was right on track and let me know that things are working out. mike's was insightful about his moving around a lot recently and looks good for him too. it was very interesting how they worked. then kevin used some dice to tell me other stuff. i asked them about my financial situation, and it's basically going to get worse if i don't make a change, and when i do make a change, there will be turbulence before it gets better. argh. but there is hope that it will get better.
then we went to a motel. it was really weird that david's friends didn't want us to crash there, but they didn't. so we payed for our motel 6 and went to sleep.

sunday -- we got up on time and got ready, only to wait for kevin and cathy forever. argh. but we met up with them and went to downtown disney, which is this whole shopping/food area in between disneyland and california adventures. we wandered around, got lunch, and took a bunch more pictures. fun times. it was also kinda funny that we took pictures at the entrace to the parks and didn't go in. heh. then at about 12:30, we headed home. this time we each took a shift driving, stopped for dinner, and got home at about 8:00. we were really tired, but david and i still worked out before going to bed.
so that was my weekend. it was fun and all, but tiring. that's a long way to drive just for a weekend. we want to go back again and go to universal studios soemtime. =) woo, road trip!
now i have about 20 minutes till my next class. cross your fingers that i did better on that midterm!
